Organizational Ingredients for
Effective Project Management

Have you heard the one about the company that was told they needed better project management, so they went out and bought 10 copies of the market-leading scheduling software. It would be funny if it weren’t true.

Obviously, good software programs can help companies to have more consistent scheduling tools, but teams plan projects, not the software. Good planning and control requires teamwork and lots of support by functional and senior management.

Organizations need disciplined application of the project management method throughout the organization to be effective at project management. This includes support and administrative functions as well as the project stakeholders.
