At
all levels, project objectives must
be S.M.A.R.T.:
Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Results-oriented*, or Realistic
Time-bounded and Resource-bounded
S.M.A.R.T. objectives mean there is no ambiguity about
what is expected, the technical requirements are measurable,
the results are achievable/realistic, and the timing
for completion is well known by all stakeholders. There
is a well defined outcome, controlled by the project
team, and the constraints are identified.
* You have to know the target before you jump into the
work.
