Characteristics of Good Project Objectives
Objectives should be:

  • Specific to what and when results are desired,

  • Measurable and verifiable,

  • Challenging yet realistic,

  • Not too complicated and reasonable in number,

  • Under the control and authority of designated individual,

  • Consistent with anticipated resources,

  • Coordinated with other units and managers,

  • In writing or otherwise documented,

And ...

  • Individuals responsible for achievement of objectives should participate in their development.
