Comparing actual work accomplished to planned work
Remember that the cost baseline is derived from a plan to perform a certain amount of work in each time period. We can also plot the value of the work performed (called earned value) by measuring the amount of work actually done in each time period and valuing it in terms of the amount of budget assigned to that work.
