a real, live example
This chart depicts the cost and schedule consequences of
the “change order game” caused by vague and
ambiguous objectives on a subcontracted project for an
international oil company: nearly 100% cost overrun, a
50% schedule delay, and no end in sight. The company cancelled
the contract and put procedures in place to get agreement
on the detailed project objectives in writing by all stakeholders
during planning.
