Approaches to Budgets: Accuracy of estimates
Remember that cost estimates are just estimates. Project managers are seldom able to predict with 100% accuracy the final cost for a project (or even for a work package). In general, the level of accuracy increases in proportion to the level of work breakdown. The Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering recommends these descriptors at different levels of accuracy.
