WBS
Representations
So far we have seen
WBS examples displayed as hierarchical charts. But that is
not the only way to display a WBS. An indented list is another
format. The examples on the next two pages show both formats
for the same work: to install an e-mail system.
The WBS format on the next page is chart view, also called
organizational format or “post-it note” method
for creating a WBS.
The advantage
of a chart view is that teams tend to look at the whole
picture and are more likely to reorganize a chart
view WBS to their own natural way of working. It creates
Right Brain Thinking, or lateral thinking. Changing
the WBS personalizes team commitment. |
