Risk Response – invoking responses
through monitoring and control

Risk monitoring and control is a process for tracking identified risks and identifying new risks. In other words, risk management goes on throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk monitoring and control means that you are constantly looking out for risk symptoms and any new risks. You also track risk responses that have been invoked to determine whether or not they were successful (is there residual risk that needs to be addressed?)

Techniques for risk monitoring and control include the techniques we have already seen in this lesson plus a careful evaluation of the outputs from project control – the results of project reviews and of earned value analyses.
